A decision has been taken to send back Covid infected patients who do not show symptoms without PCR tests.

Head of the Epidemiology unit of the Health Ministry Dr Sudath Samaraweera says that a decision has been taken to send Covid-19 patients who do not show symptoms between 10 and 14 days to their homes without PCR tests. He said the decision has been taken following information obtained by studies so far. During a media briefing in Colombo today he said that there is no possibility of spreading the virus to another person from a Covid infected person without symptoms.

Deputy Director General of Public Health Services of the Ministry of Health Dr Hemantha Herath said that more than 12 thousand PCR tests are conducted daily. He said that the results of the test have been informed to a majority of persons from whom samples were taken for PCR Test.
