Vote counting continues in the tight US presidential race. Neither candidate has secured the 270 electoral votes needed to win. According to the BBC, Former vice President Biden leads by 243 to 214 Electoral College votes. US media say Republican incumbent Donald Trump has filed lawsuits in several key states — setting the stage for a long, drawn-out process to contest the results. Much of the electoral map has been filled, with Michigan and Wisconsin expected to go to Democratic challenger Joe Biden. Some battleground states, including Pennsylvania and North Carolina, are still up in the air. Biden appeared in Delaware, where he encouraged his supporters and said that over 150 million Americans voted.
Trump’s team is taking a different approach. His camp says it will ask for a recount in Wisconsin, citing irregularities.
