The Sri Lanka Railways Station Masters’ Union says the Railways Department has decided to increase the number of train services operating on all lines with effect from today. They said 64 train services on the main-line, 74 trains alone the coastal line, 12 on the Kelani Valley line, six trains on the Northern Line and 26 trains on the Puttlam line will run during the week from today. All train services have been added to the railway time table to make it easy for commuters.Meanwhile, the SLSMU said that the long-distance services will no longer be operational.
