Prime minister emphasizes that no decision has been taken to handover the Eastern Jetty of Colombo Port to a foreign company

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse says that no decision has been taken to handover the eastern jetty or a part of it of the Colombo Port City to a foreign company. He said in parliament that there is a possibility to minimize the naval congestions faced by the Colombo Port by developing the eastern terminal. He made these remarks to a question raised by parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayke.

Minister Rohitha Aabeygunawardhana said that 6 terminals will begin at the Colombo Port during the present government period. Replying to a question raised by parliamentarian Champika Ranawaka the prime minister said that the economy was collapsed during the 2015 to 2019. Prime minister also stated that the present government has taken measures to increase the economy in the country.

Minister Paavithra Wanniarahchci said in parliament, they will reach an agreement with the WHO to obtain a vaccine for Covid-19.
