Health officials have emphasized that health guide lines should be strictly followed when maintaining daily activities of the country. They mentioned this during a progress review meeting at the health ministry under the patronage of Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi. The health officials said that health guide lines given by the health ministry should be strictly followed when bringing down foreign tourists. They said that all state and private institutions should contribute in a similar way that security authorities are strengthening the covid eradication programme. They pointed out that it is possible to eliminate the pandemic working as one team. Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Lal Panapitiya said that 13,000 beds at 72 covid treatments centers have been assigned for covid patients. He said that two private hospitals with 220 beds in Hikkaduwa and Koggala areas have been turned in to primary health care centers and allocated for corona treatment services.
