Four COVID-19 deaths were reported yesterday. Country’s death toll has increased to 343. 735 COVID-19 cases were detected yesterday. The total number of infections reported in the country has risen to 67,850. 729 persons were linked to the Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster while six individuals were identified as returnees from the United Arab Emirates. 894 individuals recovered and were discharged during the past 24-hours raising recoveries to 61,461.

More than 150,000 persons have received the Covishield vaccine in Sri Lanka at present. Accordingly, 156,310 individuals have received the first dose of the vaccine since the 29th of January. The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 9,983 doses were administered yesterday.

The Coronavirus vaccine will be given to the general public from the 01st of March. Around 600,000 persons will be given the coronavirus vaccine daily in 4,000 centres. Minister Dr. Sudarshani Fernandopulle says that plans have already implemented in this regard.
