The president says permanent solutions to peoples’ problems cannot be found by misinterpreting his instructions

President Gotabhaya Rajapakse has emphasized that permanent solutions to the real problems of rural communities cannot be found by misinterpreting his instructions. Therefor the President pointed out that public officials in those areas should take action to solve problems of the people without allowing to misinterpret such advice. The President mentioned this while attending the 11th “Gama Samaga Pilisandarak” at Kaluwaragaswewa, Nelum village in Puttalam today. Speaking on the occasion the president said that the government policy is to give priority for agriculture. The expectation is to cultivate crops that can be grown in the country. He emphasized that importation of such crops has been suspended to achieve the target. The income of farming communities can be increased by correct utilization of lands. The president pointed out that the government has given concessions including the fertilizer subsidy for the farmers to get money in to their hands. The programme has been implemented at 10 places in the country so far with the aim of improving living conditions and infrastructure in remote areas. Development activities in those areas have already commenced
