Marking 40 years of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Oman, Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi exchanged congratulatory messages on Wednesday.
The Omani Embassy in Sri Lanka issuing a press release stated that a special event was held at the Oman Foreign Ministry in Muscat to commemorate the occasion, where an agreement on mutual exemption of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, special service, and official passports were signed between the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Oman and the Omani Foreign Minister. Speaking at the event, Omani Foreign Minister said that the celebrations were a testament to the longstanding ties between Sri Lanka and Oman, and reflected what is achievable through continuous co-operation.
