Minister Sarath Weerasekara says that court cases will be filed against all suspects who are under custody in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks. A discussion in this regard took place yesterday between the counselors of the Attorney General’s Department and C.I.D. officers. Court cases will be filed against 32 who are directly connected to the attacks. Apart from that, court cased will be filed against another 241 in custody. During a media briefing in Colombo today Minister Sarath Weerasekara said that court cases will also be filed against the suspects who are connected to damaging Buddha Statues, killing of Vavunativu police officers and bombs in Wanaathawilluwa. Statements have been recorded from 2,600 suspects who have been arrested in connection with Easter Sunday attacks. The minister said that strong evidence has been found against a majority of the suspects in custody.
