The government says action will be taken on the Easter Sunday commission report in a transparent manner.

Minister Professor G.L Peris says that the government does not have anything to hide about the Easter Sunday Presidential commission report. He said that the government is acting in a transparent manner and the report has been tabled in parliament for a 3 day debate. The debate will be held on Wednesday. The Minister told media although commission reports in the past were not tabled in parliament, the present government is not doing so. He pointed out that the report has been prepared by extensively studying the attacks. Minister Peris said that it has laid a strong foundation to take future action related to be attack.

General Secretary of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Sagara Kariyawasam said that the previous government which did not take any action when information about the Easter Sunday arrack was continuously available should accept the responsibility for the incident. He said that the bankruptcy of the Samagi Janabalawegaya is displayed well by their attempts to entrust the responsibility with Podujana Peramuna leaders.
