Minister Mahindananda Aluthgama said in parliament today action has been taken to keep 300 thousand metric tons of paddy reserve. 50 rupees certified price has been given for farmers. During the previous government 20 billion rupee loss has been incurred to the Paddy Marketing Board. The paddy storages were also given to the private sector. He also stated that the poisonous chemical fertilizer will not be given to farmers.
Trade Minister says that there is no ban to produce Palm oil in the country.
Minister Bandula Gunawardhana said that there is no ban to produce Palm Oil in the country under a quality standard. But importing of Palm oil has been banned from foreign countries. Permission has been given to use Palm Oil as a material for biscuit industry. He made these remarks in parliament, answering to a question raised by parliamentarian Mohammed Muzamil.
