Travel restrictions are to be lifted tomorrow, under strict conditions while 24 areas in 12 districts are isolated effective from tomorrow

The Police Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana says that people should act according to certain restrictions and health guidelines even after the island-wide travel restrictions are lifted from 4.00 am tomorrow. Accordingly, he said a minimum number of employees should be called for duties in government and private sector institutions. He said travel between provinces will be restricted and said travel through provinces will be allowed only for specific purposes. On public transport, passengers should be limited to seating capacity. It is mandatory for every person to wear a face mask. The travel restrictions will be re-imposed from 10.00 pm on June 23 till 4.00 am on June 25.
Meanwhile, 24 areas and Grama Seva divisions in 12 districts will be placed under isolation from 4am tomorrow. The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak said the isolation directives will come into effect in areas in the Colombo, Gampaha, Ampara, Batticaloa, Ratnapura and Kalutara districts.
Isolation orders will also come into force in several parts of the Jaffna, Matale, Puttalam, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
Meanwhile, isolation status already in place in 82 areas and Grama Seva divisions in 12 districts will be lifted at 4am tomorrow.
