The number of trains operating within the Western Province increased to 100 journeys

The number of train journeys operating within the Western Province from tomorrow has been increased to 100. Plans have been made for 50 trains to operate in the morning, and another 50 in the evening. According to the new train schedule 17 trains will operate along the Main Railway line from Ambepussa, Mirigama, Veyangoda, Gampaha and Ragama while 20 trains will operate along the Coastal line from Aluthgama, Kalutara, Moratuwa, Panadura and Mount Lavinia.
A total of 50 trains are due to reach Colombo, with eight trains operating along the Puttalam line from Kochchikade and Negombo, and five along the Kelani Valley line from Avissawella, Kosgama and Padukka.
