Minister Patalee Champika Ranawaka says, when obtaining land for the Tech City in Homagama, lands that hold private residences will not be included in the acquisition.
236 acres of land have been identified for this purpose.
The Minister states, these lands are not plots of land belonging to the people. He rejected claims by certain individuals that these lands will be given to a Korean company.

The Minister further stated, 17 acres have been set aside for the Technology Faculty of the University of Colombo, and 20 acres has been set aside for the Technology Faculty of the Sri Jayawardenapura University, while another 20 acres have been set aside for the Technology Faculty of the University of Moratuwa.

He added, 45 acres have been allocated for the Nano Technology Institute
