During a media briefing today, MP Wimal Weerawansa said that the President will make a request tomorrow through the Attorney General to give the judgement expeditiously on the fundamental rights petition filed at the Supreme Court Against the dissolution of parliament. He said that the judgement would be very important to end the current political crisis.
Parliamentarian Anura Priyadarshana Yapa pointed out that foreign interferences in the local politics have increased as United National Party Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe is a strong follower of policies of foreign countries.
The Leader of the Lanka Samasamaja Party Prof. Thissa Witharana says that there is no conflict of opinion regarding the appointment of Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Prime Minister by removing Mr. Ranil Wickremasinghe from the post. During a media briefing in Colombo, he pointed out that the president has acted according to the constitution.
