President Maithripala Sirisena says public servants should not let or tolerate any type of irregularities or mal-practices even amidst whatsoever influences. Handing over appointment letter to the new secretaries of the ministries at the Presidential Secretariat recently,

he said he will stand by the public officials who take correct decisions on behalf of the people and the country. People have not been provided with a good governance by any rule of the country so far. The President requests the secretaries to work hard to fulfil the public aspirations of good governance.

The President stressed that he will always go against bribery, frauds and corruption. Some politicians think that they can misuse public funds in the name of development projects. The culprits will definitely be revealed in future in front of the people. He requests the secretaries and the ministries to meet the relevant officials of public institutions at least once a month and to provide necessary guidance to achieve their duties properly.
