President Maithripala Sirisena has met Sri Lanka Freedom Party electoral seat organizers this morning at the Temple Trees. Discussions have been held on the future programmes and reorganization of the party. The President said that the reorganization programme would commence by the middle of next month and he expected contribution and commitment of all electoral seat organizers for the programme. He pointed out the need to act with commitment and be prepared to take leadership by the seat organizers as a broad alliance strengthening SLFP in its future political affairs.
Meanwhile, during a media briefing in Colombo today General Secretary of the SLFP Professor Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa said that his party is prepared to contest at future elections as a major organized front. The programme will commence after a religious ceremony at the historic Ruhunu Katharagama Maha Dewalaya. The United National Party tries to socialize false opinions by stating that the SLFP is having disputes. Rejecting those allegations, the General Secretary said that the SLFP would move forward as a strong party in New Year.
