President Maithripala Sirisena has instructed the Sri Lanka Freedom Party to reorganize all affiliated institutions of the party. He gave these instructions conducting in official tour of the SLFP Headquarters, this morning. The President looked into the possibility or reorganizing affiliated units, and obtaining their contribution and support to the party. He also instructed senior activists of the party to streamline the functions at the party headquarters.
Meanwhile, speaking at a media briefing held in Colombo today, Secretary to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party: Professor Rohana Lakshman Piyasada said, the SLFP is making preparations to successfully face the ‘election year’ that has dawned. He said, 99 percent of the Political Offices at electorate level have been established. He further stated, a large ‘member promotion programme’ will be implemented next month. He added, the ceremony to mark the President’s fourth year in office will be held in Matale.
Joining in the media briefing, Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara said, a broad alliance will be formed. He also said, those who are unable to bear the fact that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna have joined hands, are spreading rumors.
