The Department of Agriculture tests drone technology for pest control in Sri Lanka first time

The Department of Agriculture has decided to test drone technology for pest control in Sri Lanka. Accordingly, drones were used to spray pesticide to protect a maize cultivation in Galenbindunuwewa from ‘Sena’ caterpillar menace.

Minister P. Harrison has instructed the Agricultural Department officials to look into the possibilities of spreading this system island wide for pest control work.
