Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe says, the knowledge of the subjects: Science, Maths and English needs to be enriched in schoolchildren, to sharpen their competitiveness against their peers in the international sphere. The Premier expressed these views, declaring open the Educational, Economic and Trade Exhibition organised to mark the 75th anniversary of the Karandeniya Madya Maha Vidyalaya, today.

The Premier further stated, due to the rowdy behaviour of peoples’ representatives, the Parliament is not in a position to be an example to the country. The Premier pointed out, the dire necessity to strictly implement the MPs’ Code of Ethics.
Those who have offended public trust are still not prepared to accept their faults.
In such a context and representing such a Parliament, the Premier said, he finds himself at a loss when it comes to giving advice to school children.
