The government emphasizes that there are no plans to privatize the Electricity Board

The government says it has no intention of privatizing the Electricity Board. Minister Ravi Karunanayake says that a proposal to privatize any division of the Electricity Board has not been made. The Minister said that the aim of the government is to provide electricity for a fair price to the consumers. The minister expressed these views while attending a function to establish Thalangama Customer Services Center of the Electricity Board at Ape Gama premises.
