The Presidents of Sri Lanka and the Maldives have agreed to act on a new, broad level of cooperation, to support the mechanisms against drug smuggling.
This was discussed between the President of the Maldives: Ibrahim Mohammed Solih and President Maithripala Sirisena, this morning. The two leaders also discussed on updating the agreements between the two countries, relating to the Trade, Health, Defence, Education and Maritime sectors.
Attention was also focused on enhancing ‘joint trade opportunities’ between the two countries. Joint cooperation for the betterment of the entire SAARC region was given prominent attention, at the discussion.
