The proposal on forming a National Government will be taken up for debate, in Parliament, tomorrow.
Thereafter, a vote in this respect will also be taken.
Parliamentarian Harshana Rajakaruna says, a ‘National Government’ is needed, not to increase the number of cabinet portfolios and be happy, but to form a strong stable government, to take the country forward.
Speaking at a media briefing held at Sirikotha this evening, MP Rajakaruna said, the United National Front, the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, and a group from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party will join to form the National Government.
The MP also noted, although there is a lot of conversation regarding the new Constitution, still, a draft of the proposed Constitution has not been put forward. What has been submitted so far, are the reports of expert committees involved in the task of formulating the new Constitution. Discussions in this respect will commence, and the next course of action will be decided upon, in the coming days.
