The World Bank Vice President for the South Asia region, Hartwig Schafer is currently has arrived in Sri lanka. This is his first visit to Sri Lanka. The objective of this tour is to gain a better understanding of the country’s development priorities and as to how the bank can continue to support its critical reform agenda. During his three-day visit, Schafer will meet President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and senior government officials. The World Bank representative will also go through a review process of the grant assistance programme extended to Sri Lanka so far.
