The “Sirikotha – Gamata” programme of the United National Party will be underway in the Kalutara District throughout the day today.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe together with ministers of the party and public representatives of the area will participate.
General Secretary of the UNP: Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam says, several programmes will be implemented, including establishing the party office, membership promotion programmes, and sessions to identify the problems faced by party members and to provide solutions for them.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe, participating at the first rally held in the Thotawatta Village in Panadura said, during the next five years, programmes will be implemented to bring about a rapid development, and these will be programmes that everyone can be a part of.
Ministers Dr. Rajitha Senarathna, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, Navin Dissanayaka, Patali Champika Ranawaka, Kabir Hashim, Ajith P Perera and Ravi Karunanayaka participated.
As part of the programme, they visited residents in the area.
Participating in the Horana Programme of “Sirikotha – Gamata”, Minister Chandrani Bandara said, she visited homes in the area and was able to identify the difficulties faced. Thereby, steps will be taken to provide speedy solutions to the issues. She also pointed out the necessity for women’s leadership in politics.
