President of the Public Health Inspectors Union: Upul Rohana says, during the “Food Safety Week”, programmes were carried out covering 342 PHI Divisions, with the participation of 1,700 PHIs.

Speaking to the Subharathee Discussion Programme aired over the SLBC this morning, he said, the hygiene level in the preparation and serving of meals at eateries and food outlets was thoroughly inspected.
He emphasized the need for hand gloves to be worn when serving food. He reminds the public, should there be complaints on food outlets in one’s area, these can be brought to notice, over telephone number: 0112 63 56 75
