With the vision of the President, to plant trees islandwide, a new “tree planting auspicious time” has been introduced to this year’s Sinhala and Tamil New Year rituals, which falls on the 15th of April at 11.17 a.m. Mahaweli development and environment ministry request every Sri Lankan to join this great endeavor at the auspicious time.

Speaking to the SLBC, forest conservator of the Social forestry science and forest expanding unit P A G S Nandakumara said saplings of Nedun, Kaluwara, Burutha, Hora, Naa and Kumbuk can get from officers of forest conservation department offices and other district offices, free of charge.
