Media secretary of the national Thawheed Jammath Organization is detained for72 hours for questioning.

Anuradhapura Chief Magistrate and Additional district judge Janaka Prasanna Samarasinghe has ordered the police to detain for 72 hours the alleged media secretary of the Leader of the National Thawheed Jammath Organization and questioned him after being produced in court by medawathchiya, Thalgaswewa police. The Medawatchchiya Police OIC was ordered to submit a progress report of the investigations to the court in connection with the suspect. The suspect Abdul Latiff Mohammed who is a resident of Medawathchiya, Thalgaswewa has worked as the organizer of national Thawheed Jammath Organizsation of Kaththankudi area. Investigations into the finding of 600 military type clothes similar to the Army uniforms have been intensified. The clothes were found after search operations in several villages including Kurunegala, Mallwapitiya. A lorry wanted by police in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks has been taken into custody. The police headquarters said that the lorry was taken into custody with three suspects, from Polonnaruwa, Sungavila area. Puttlam police have found several fire arms and 27 bullets on the bank of Viluka tank on Puttlam-Mannar Road. An Urban Council member of Kotte has been arrested with three swords and a knife.
Meanwhile, steps have been taken to enhance security provided to power plants and other related institutions. Accordingly security has been strengthened at power plants, reservoirs, transmission centers and sub-grid stations. Security has also been enhanced at electricity boards, regional engineering offices and regional electricity depots.
Kekirawa police have found the vehicle which was used to transport individuals connected to the bomb explosions at Saindamarudu area. It has been found hidden near a house at Puliyankulama area. Acting OIC Keerthie Abeyrathne told SLBC that the owner of the van was arrested. The van has been found on information given the Police.
