Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora postponed

The 18th meeting of the Conference of the parties (CoP) to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) has been postponed until further notice.

It has been postponed on a request made by United Nation Security Council to CITES secretariat in Geneva. It was scheduled to be held on 23rd of this month to 3rd of next month at the BMICH in Colombo.

More than 3000 foreign delegates and media personnel from 183 countries were expected to attend the conference largest UN Conference to have been hosted by Sri Lanka.
