Odisha begins evacuating people from low-lying areas due to cyclone Fani

The Odisha government in India today started evacuating people from low-lying areas in several coastal districts to safer places as cyclone Fani is likely to hit the State’s coast in Puri district tomorrow evening.

Light rain has begun in many areas in the coastal belt. More than 8 lakh people were to be brought to cyclone shelters and other safer places.

Meanwhile Bangladesh Meteorological Department said the severe cyclonic storm Fani will hit Bangladesh tomorrow.
