National Dengue Prevention unit says that people should take measures to control the spread of dengue mosquitoes with the prevailing rainy weather condition. 12,447 dengue patients have been reported since January this year. Specialist Doctor of the unit Dr. Preshila Samaraweera says that the death toll is 18. She added that this number is comparatively law when compared to last year, but the mosquito density may increase with the existing weather. A dengue prevention week will take place from 08th to 10th of this month. It will be carried out covering 70 MOH divisions.
