The Maha Nayake of Malwathu Chapter has requested the Chief Justice to conduct court activities without damaging the dignity of the Maha Sangha

The Maha Nayake of Malwathu Chapter Most Venerable Tibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera has said that there are problems related to the dignity of the Maha Sangha when conducting legal activities.

He said this when the new Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya called over on him today. The Maha Nayake Thera pointed out that it has taken more than ten years to decide the place to hear a court case in connection with a case filed by a Buddhist Monk in Kandy about a land in Colombo belonging to a temple.

The Maha Nayake Thera pointed out that many believes a decision given by a court has more acceptance than the decisions of a Maha Viharaya. Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya said that he would pay the attention to the hardships to the Maha Sangha and would take appropriate action.

Thereafter, the Chief Justice visited thee Maha Nayake of Asgiri Chapter Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera.
