Paying of compensations on behalf of those died in bomb explosions will be completed within two weeks

The office of reparation says paying of compensation on behalf of those who died in the Easter Sunday bomb attacks will be completed within next two weeks. 67 million rupees has been paid as compensation so far. Director of the office Ananda Vijayapala told the SLBC that 63 million rupees has been paid on behalf 126 who died and 43 million rupees has been paid for those who were injured.
He said that more than 21 million rupees were paid today on behalf of the people who died and were injured in the Easter Sunday bomb attack at Kochchikade St. Anthony’s church and in bomb explosions in Colombo. 8 hundred thousand rupees each was paid for the next of kin of 18 people who died in the incident. Ministers John Amarathunga and Ravi Karunanayake were present on the occasion.
The office of the reparation has provided ten million rupees each for the renovations of Katuwavipitiya, Kochchikade and Zion churches. The army is conducting renovation activities to Katuwapitiya and Batticaloa churches. The funds have been provided to the army. The navy has been provided the funds needed to renovate the Kochchikade church.
Steps have been taken to credit compensation money to the bank accounts through the divisional secretariats for others who have died and injured in the Colombo explosions who have been in Colombo at that time from various parts in the country. Mr. Wijayapala said that paying of compensation for those who were injured and died in the explosions at Katuwapitiya church will be completed on Thursday.
