Leader of the House Minister Lakshman Kiriella says that Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa has started to make contradictory views on the proposed anti-terrorism bill.
He has first said that the anti-terrorism bill was a relief package. Later he has requested the government to appoint a parliamentary committee to make necessary amendments to the bill. Later the opposition leader has agreed to have a discussion with the Prime Minister regarding this matter.
Contradicting all these views the opposition leader has now stressed that he would not allow to present the proposed anti-terrorism bill. Minister Lakshman Kiriella says that as the leader of the opposition Mahinda Rajapaksa should not play fool with national security.
The government has prepared the anti-terrorism bill to counter the global terrorism. Therefore, opposition parties should also help the government to make this bill a law of the country.
