Chinese President Xi Jin Pin pledges every possible support from the Chinese Government to Sri Lanka to eliminate terrorism. China deplores terrorism disregarding the place where it occurs.
The Chinese government and the people vehemently condemned the terrorist attacks that took place in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday.
The Chinese President stressed that they will extend their utmost support to Sri Lanka to overcome the challenges of terrorism and extremism.
The Chinese leader made these remarks, when he met his visiting counterpart Maithripala Sirisena at the Chinese Presidential Palace last evening.
In response to a request made by the Sri Lankan leader the Chinese President agreed to provide a grant of 2.6 billion rupees for security purposes in Sri Lanka.
He also agreed to provide one hundred jeeps amounting to 1500 million rupees for the use of the Sri Lanka Police Department. An MOU on the security cooperation between the two countries will also be signed by the two leaders.
Meanwhile they discussed in detail regarding the steps taken by the government to ensure the national security following the April 21 terrorist attack as well as regarding the steps taken to protect all the people.
