President Maithripala Sirisena returned to the island early this morning following his official visit to China to attend the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations. The President met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang during his official visit. The main purpose of the visit was to obtain support for the development and the national security in the country through enhancing cooperation between the two countries. In his discussion with the President the Chinese President, has assured continuous support to eradicate terrorism in Sri Lanka. The Chinese government made a grant of 2.5 billion rupees for the activities of the security forces in the country in the wake of emergency situation arose in the country.
