A main suspect connected to the Easter Sunday bomb attacks has been arrested

Police media spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara says that curfew will not be imposed in any area of the country tonight. He said that a main suspect who has maintained contacts with terrorist groups linked to the Easter Sunday bomb attacks has been arrested.

The suspect, Mohamed Rizwan is a resident of Mabola, Wattala area. Police have found several passports in the possession of the suspect. He has been arrested on information received by the western province intelligence unit.

He also said that a suspect wanted by police for violent activities can surrender to the nearest police station or to the courts.

Meanwhile, the police spokesman said that a special security programme has been implemented for the Wesak Festival.
