The government pays its attention on establishing a common school system

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe says that the Ministry of Education has a major task of reestablishing a common school system without dividing the local education system on religion and language basis.

The Prime Minister said this while attending the diploma awards ceremony of the national college of education at the Temple Trees this morning. The Prime Minister pointed out that the country needs schools with trained teachers.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe has instructed Home Affairs Minister Vajira Abeywardena to display name boards in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages. The Prime Minister has directed not to use any other language for this purpose.
