The government is taking measures to empower the families who were affected by Easter Sunday terrorist attacks. 374 families have become victims of the attack. At least one death has occurred in 156 of those families.

At least one person has been injured in 188 families. The government has identified the need for an accelerated programme to uplift those families socially, economically, culturally, spiritually and in education.

Therefore, the Urban Habitat Development Authority hopes to implement a special human resource development programme with the coordination of ‘Seth Sarana’ organization to empower such families. Steps will be taken to pay compensation and renovate mosques that were damaged due to the recent clashes. The cabinet has approved the proposal by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe in this regard.
