Police Media Spokesman: SP Ruwan Gunasekara says, an extensive investigation is underway into assets worth 7,000 million rupees belonging to the National Thauheed Jamath.
These investigations are being carried out by the CID and the TID.
41 bank accounts of the suspects arrested in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks, have been frozen. These accounts have held funds amounting to close upon 140 million rupees, whilst another 14 million rupees has been uncovered. Information is surfacing as to how this organization received funds from overseas sources.
Meanwhile, the police further stated, the five individuals of National Thauheed Jamath who were arrested from Horowpathana in connection with the Easter Sunday incidents, are being further detained for questioning.
