President Maithripala Sirisena says the continuous alert on the country’s national security is essential. Addressing progress review council on the national security he said the support of all parties is needed to strengthen the national security of the country considering the international situation.
He also said attention will be paid at the national security council on the facts discussed at the review council. Joining the discussion speaker Karu Jayasuriya said the foreign ambassadors are now satisfied on the present security situation. He pointed out that the restrictions imposed by some countries on tourists will also sorted out.
Opposition leader Mahinda Rajapaksa has expressed at the progress review council that the importance of working together all working together without taking a political view in the event of national security.
Minister Kabeer Hashim said that it is important to control the behavior of some media and social media regarding the Easter Sunday attack.
TNA leader R Sampanthan said that the utmost support given by the security forces to the people is highly commendable.
Parliamentarian Dr. Sarath Amunugama said a thorough investigation should be conducted on flowing of funds to the terrorists, the transaction of money and receiving of fire arms , war equipment. Several religious leaders and intellectuals participated at this occasion.
