The Colour Coding System for solid food items, to take effect from the 1st of July

Speaking to the Subharathee Discussion Programme aired over the SLBC this morning, Minister of Health Dr. Rajitha Senaratna said, the Colour Coding System to make consumers aware of the sugar, salt and fat content in food items will take effect from the 1st of July, conforming to international standards.

The Minister added, sweetmeat manufacturers and trade associations have expressed their agreement to this move
