US President Donald Trump has dismissed concerns about recent North Korean missile tests. In a tweet issued shortly after his arrival in Japan today, Mr. Trump called the missiles “small weapons”. However, US National Security Adviser John Bolton said just yesterday that the tests violated UN resolutions on North Korea. Not for the first time, the tweet appeared to put Mr. Trump at odds with Mr Bolton, and also with his host nation. Japanese prime Minister Shinzo Abe last week called the North Korean tests “extremely regrettable”.
