Secretary to the Ministry of Education Nihal Ranasinghe says every unit of the Ministry will be computerised with the E-technology support. The process is being carried out at present. The details of E-technology will also be utilized in the textbooks. Mr. Ranasinghe further said tab computer machines will be provided to teachers and students with the aim of easing the learning and teaching activities. Mr. Ranasinghe made these remarks at a live discussion Subharathi held at SLBC this morning. He further said the Examinations Department’s computer network will be utilized for education and appraisal activities. The basic data and information about teachers have been stored in the computer system. The system will commence its operations in near future. The system is also capable enough to gather information from all teachers serving in islandwide locations through the regional education Department computer systems.
