The adjournment debate on the allegations made in a New York Times investigation detailing how a Chinese company had given money to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was held in Parliament yesterday.

State Minister Ajith P. Perera said Mahinda Rajapaksa or any member of his family has not come to the Parliament today to answer these allegations. The good governance rule has taken measures to take legal action against any wrong dowers disregarding their political differences.

Parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that it is Mahinda Rajapaksa’s responsibility to attend the parliament and faced the allegations against him. He condemned the attempt made by the joint opposition to disrupt the debate.
