The National Democratic Front to be unveiled on the 5th of next month.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe, speaking at the laying of the foundation stone for the Seethawaka Commercial Complex in Avissawella, stressed the need for a national policy for the future of the country.

The Premier added, it is for this purpose that a new alliance is to be formed.
Thereby, the National Democratic Front will be unveiled on the 5th of next month.
This alliance is open to all, and will contest the forthcoming Presidential Election and General Election.
The Premier expressed his confidence that the new alliance will possess the capability to take the country forward, over the next five years.

Joining in the event, Minister of Megapolis and Western Development: Patalie Champika Ranawaka said, in addition to the Colombo Port City, a Sea City spanning 400 acres will be completed along the stretch from Kollupitiya to Dehiwela.
The Maharagama Urban Council area will be developed into a commercial hub, and will consist of a housing complex for middle income earners, comprising 800 housing units.
The Minister also stated, the Homagama Technology Town is being constructed, and will benefit around 14 thousand students.

Meanwhile, speaking in Parliament today, State Minister of Finance: Eran Wickremarathne emphasized, the economy of the country has not collapsed. He further stated a Bill is to be tabled, to ensure the independence of the Central Bank.

Speaker Karu Jayasooriya said, the Committee on Public Accounts will be notified to table in Parliament the audit reports of government institutions, without delays.

Minister Vajira Abeywardhana stated, under the Administrative District Act, the reclaimed land from the sea – for the construction of the Port City – will be merged with the Colombo Administrative District under the Colombo Divisional Secretariat.
