The President said that avenues must be created to provide higher education to estate children

President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday said he would intervene and resolve the issues of graduate teachers in the estates by holding talks with the Education Ministry and the relevant provincial councils.

Addressing the opening of a new building worth 9 million rupees at a school in Haputale, the President noted that avenues must be created to provide children in the estates an opportunity of pursuing higher studies.

He observed that the government has been providing facilities for all schools in order to provide students equal access to education.
