The Ministry of Education is upgrading the management of data to streamline the administration of the school system.
Such a Data Management System for the Education Sector is necessary, as it provides accurate and up-to-date information that is beneficial in decision making and when formulating national policies.
Information maintained will include details on the teachers serving in the school system, details on the schools in which they have served since their first appointment, the subjects they have been assigned to teach, and further more details pertaining to their employment.
It will also be useful in identifying schools that report of a shortage and an excess of teachers, and to identify when appointments have not been made.
The information portal will be linked to the internet this October.
