Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe emphasizes, the country needs a ‘protector’, and not a ‘terminator’.
Addressing a meeting held at Temple Trees yesterday, attended by representatives of the local government bodies of the Colombo Kurunegala and Galle districts, the Premier requested all parties to protect the country, and not to hand over their future to a ‘terminator’ who would destroy everything that has been built-up amidst many difficulties over the past few years.
The Premier pointed out, the country is well received today.
He further started, resolutions were approved last year for grass root development, but the implementation of the proposed moves was marred due to the Anti-Constitutional Coup.
The Prime Minister advised the local government members to submit proposals to complete the work this year, as funds for the immediate implementation of the proposals will be released.
