Director General of the elections Commission Saman Rathnayake says that the act submitted to parliament should be approved to provide voting rights at the forthcoming presidential election for those who completed 18 years in June 2018 apart from those who are in 2018 voters’ list. It should be passed before the gazette on the Presidential election is issued. He said that another 300 thousand would get voting rights apart from those who are in the 2018 voters’ list, if that is realized. He pointed out all public representatives in parliament should pay their attention in this regard. He said that elections commission is prepared for any election in future. He said the treasury is prepared to provide necessary allocations to conduct the elections.
